The Conquest branch of the Welburn family
Hannah Welburn, and her twin sister Mary Ellen, were born February 1840 in the farming community of Roxana. She is enumerated in the household of George Welburn in the 1840 Census and begins appearing by name in 1850. Her younger sister Nancy Jane Welburn-Oliver deposed that Hannah was still living at home in 1858.
She married Robert Conquest, a native of Virginia's Eastern Shore. As sharecroppers Hannah & Robert resided in Roxana & Frankford. They finally settled in the city of Georgetown.
8 children were born during the marriage:
- Hester L. Conquest-Franklin (born 12/1859) her children: Mary Franklin, Charles Franklin, Annie Franklin, Lula Franklin, James Franklin, Robert Franklin, William Franklin, Ethel Franklin, Ernest Franklin, George Franklin, and 2 others.

- Eliza A. Conquest-Gross (born 5/1867 or 1868) her children: Bertha Conquest-Adkinson, Gertrude Conquest-Boyer, and Charles Gross.

Hannah Welburn-Conquest was the only Welburn child in Delaware to have a last will & testament. She died in Georgetown between June 20 -August 6, 1900. With only 1 child living nearby, her personal estate was sold at auction.
